Tiranty n’était pas fabricant, mais distributeur. Des appareils d'origines diverses portent la marque de la maison, mais ne sont la plupart du temps qu'un changement de nom et le résultat du montage d'un objectif français. C'est le cas sur ce modèle qui a un objectif Berthiot Olor N° 3. Il s'agit clairement d'un Contessa Nettel Sonnet, jolie petite chambre tropicale au format 6,5 x 9, construite en teck.
Au bas du dos apparaît le marquage Breveté S.G.D.G. EPT (Etablissement Philippe Tiranty). Le brevet porte sur un perfectionnement apporté aux appareils photographiques dans le but de permettre l'emploi facultatif des châssis à plaques et des magasins à films (brevet 490 464 délivré le 31 décembre 1918).
